Belgium barely squeezed past underdogs Canada by the odd goal and they did not play their expansive football, but goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said the win was what was most important at this World Cup.
Courtois told Sporza: “Despite the game, I am satisfied with the three points.
“We kept a clean sheet and won. Only the result counts in a tournament. I want to win all matches 1-0 and play less good football. Although I also know that it will have to be better.
“Croatia and Morocco played a draw. With a win Sunday we are already qualified for the next round.”
The Real Madrid shot stopper was Man of the Match after he kept the Red Devils in the game when he saved a penalty in the 10th minute before Belgium went on to win courtesy of Michy Batshuayi goal just before halftime.
