Samuel Chukwueze has been linked with several Premier League clubs as he hopes to get away from La Liga side Villarreal, where he is no longer guaranteed a starting place.
In 2016, Chukwueze saw a move to Arsenal collapse soon after he played a big role in the Golden Eaglets fifth World Cup conquest in Chile.
He has recently been linked with Everton and Aston Villa.
Football Insider has reported that Aston Villa, where former Villarreal coach Unai Emery now calls the shots, have stepped up their chase for the 23-year-old winger, who is now battling for regular first-team action at his La Liga club.
A transfer in January can therefore not be ruled out.
Chukwueze’s contract with Villarreal runs until the summer of 2024.
The winger has a total of 29 goals in 178 games for the Spanish club.
