Christian Akpan joins Genk in Spanish camp

Young defender Christian Akpan will join the Genk first-team squad for training camp in Spain.

The 18-year-old central defender joined the Genk youth team in January from Ivorian club Asec Mimosas.

He signed a three-year contract with option for an additional two years.

He is one of six players who have stood out this season in the Jong Genk.

Noah-Adedeji-Sternberg, who has Nigerian roots, is also one of the youngsters on the trip.

Genk will train in Benidorm, Spain, from January 6.
