With uncertainties still surrounding the release of Victor Eletu and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro by their Italian clubs, Tochukwu Nadi from Bulgarian club Botev Plodiv looks set to be one of the players to gate crash the Flying Eagles final World Cup squad.
The Flying Eagles have pushed for the release of midfielders Eletu and Akinsanmiro, but every passing day it is becoming unlikely the players will feature at the World Cup in Argentina.
Nadi, on the other hand, has teamed up with the Flying Eagles in Abuja and has impressed in training to the satisfaction of coach Ladan Bosso.
He is a defensive midfielder by trade even though he is not the biggest player on the pitch.
He has also shown he is very comfortable on the ball, which could allow him to even play as an attacking midfielder.
His teammate from Botev Plodiv, Emmanuel Umeh, is a power-playing striker, who could also be on the flight to Argentina because he is a very different striker from the others in training camp.
Bosso will also have to take a decision on Nasarawa United attacking midfielder Joshua John as well as Arsenal U21 left winger Joel Ideho.
Ideho, who started out with Ajax Amsterdam, missed the cut to the recent U20 AFCON in Egypt because he did not have a Nigerian passport.
He now has one along with his Dutch passport.
