Newly crowned Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen have now gone 44 games unbeaten in all competitions and coach Xabi Alonso has now charged Victor Boniface, Nathan Tella and the other players to finish the season without losing a game.
“Of course we want to finish the season undefeated,” stated Alonso.
“Our most important goal was to win the Championship. But if we could continue not to lose, that would be even better.
“There are five matches remaining with the Europa League semi-finals in between.
“Sunday will be the last match of a very intense period, with three weeks during which we had the quarter-finals of the Europa League and the semi-finals of the German Cup.
“We will see, but our objective is clear and we will try to continue.”
Bayer Leverkusen take their invincibility record to fifth-placed Borussia Dortmund today.
