Sammy Ameobi’s first goal of the season has contributed to Nottingham Forest battling win at Stoke City.
The Nigerian-Briton, who has pledged his international allegiance to Nigeria, scored in the 47th minute to help Nottingham Forests beat hosts Stoke City 3-2 and go top of the Championship table for the first time in five years.
Forest top the standings in the second-tier league with 18 points from nine matches.
The former Newcastle United forward also contributed to his team’s winning goal when his cross was played back to the path of Grabban, who turned the ball into the net. The lanky forward has played for Bolton Wanderers, Newcastle United, Cardiff City and Middlesbrough.
