Alhassan Yusuf has backed his club IFK Gothenburg to be crowned champions of Sweden in the forthcoming season after their last conquest 13 years ago.
The new season in Sweden is fixed to kick off on June 14 after the long delay caused by the Coronavirus Pandemic.
IFK have won the Swedish championship 18 times but the last time they did so was 2007.
But Yusuf, 19, has said they can now go all the way come the new campaign.
“I think we can win the league. I say this because of the way we have prepared, how well we have trained and because Poya Asbaghi is really a good coach. He is amazing in the way he interacts with his players both on and off the pitch,” he told fotballtransfers.
However, the former FC Hearts star admitted because of the uncertainties surrounding the new season because of the Coronavirus outbreak, it has not been easy giving everything in training.
“Everything feels the same way that we are still training, but of course you get to “push” yourself because you do not have matches on the weekends.
“What I miss most is just being able to step out on the pitch and play a match.”
