It has not been a great start for CHAN Eagles defender Olamilekan Adeleye in Sudan after injury forced him out of his league debut for Al Merreikh.
The former FC Ifeanyiubah and Lobi Stars central defender started at Al Khartoum just three days after his arrival in Sudan, but was subbed in the first half due to injury with scores tied at 1-1.
The match eventually finished in a 1-1 draw.
The Sudanese giants, who have also signed Nigerian winger Tony Edjomariegwe from Morocco, are top of the standings with 18 points from eight matches.
They eliminated NPFL club Enyimba to reach the money-spinning group stage of this year’s CAF Champions League.
