Nigeria strikers were back firing in Europe as the various leagues resumed after the international break – Victor Osimhen opening Serie A goals account, Simon Nwankwo scoring again against Juventus, Paul Onuachu carried on with his eighth goal of the season in Belgium, while Terem Moffi scored on Ligue 1 debut.

5.‘Simy’ Nwankwo
The big striker is fast forming a good habit of scoring against Juventus when he converted a penalty in a 1-1 draw with the Serie A champions. He has now netted two goals in this campaign. It was Crotone’s first point of the season. The promoted club will most certainly need the goals of the big man if they were to stay up this season after he top-scored in Serie B last term to get them back to the top flight.
4.Paul Onuachu
The big target man answered his critics the best way possible with his eighth goal of the season as KRC Genk stopped league leaders Sporting Charleroi 2-1. He connected home a cross to open the scoring halfway through the first half. Against both Algeria and Tunisia, Onuachu did not enjoy enough decent crosses as coach Gernot Rohr insisted the Eagles will not change their playing style to fit that of the big striker.

3.Chidera Ejuke
The winger crowned a super week during which he made his long-awaited Eagles debut with his second goal in Russia as CSKA Moscow won the Classic Moscow derby against Dynamo Moscow 3-1. He is one wide man who has proved he has an end product to all the dazzling runs down the flanks, a quality direct international rival Samuel Chukwueze has been struggling to come to terms in recent times. His Russian army club remain within striking distance of front runners Zenit and Spartak Moscow.
2.Terem Moffi
The striker could not have dreamt of a better start to life in Ligue 1 than on Saturday – he scored his first goal in France after his record eight million Euros transfer, caused a penalty from which his team drew level with home team Stade Reims and Lorient recorded only their second win of the season. Ligue 2 champions have unearthed a priceless gem, who will shine and shine.

1.Victor Osimhen
The Super Eagles top striker crowned a great day in the office with his first goal in Serie A as Napoli turned away Atalanta 4-1. It may have been only a goal, but it will go a long way in easing the pressure that comes with becoming the most expensive African signing ever. He is enjoying his football and will most certainly be among the goals as the league gathers steam.
