Despite what some considered as a below-par showing for the Super Eagles in friendlies against Algeria and Tunisia, Paul Onuachu continued where he stopped before the international break by netting his eighth goal of the season in Belgium for KRC Genk.
Onuachu opened scoring for Genk against league leaders Charleroi after 25 minutes, when he headed home a cross.
Genk went on to win 2-1 despite playing a man short from the 82nd minute.
Onuachu is now just a goal shy of the nine-goal tally he achieved last season.
Super Eagles teammate Cyriel Dessers was an unused sub for Genk.
Genk are 10th on the table with 13 points from nine matches.
