Kyoto Sanga striker Peter Utaka hit a double earlier today to salvage a 2-1 away win against Jubilo Iwata in a J-League 2 clash.
Utaka, 36, had leveled scores on the hour after their hosts had taken an early lead in the sixth minute.
The three-time league top scorer put the icing on the cake in the second minute of the added time to ensure his side returned to winning ways after a draw and a loss previously.
‘Manpo’s double strike takes his tally to 17 after 24 games to keep hopes of winning the top scorer’s prize for the person record of four times across three countries.
He will reach a milestone of winning the top scorer’s award both in the J-League 1 and J-League 2, becoming the first African player to achieve the feat.
The former OB Odense hit man won the joint J-League 1 top scorer award with 19 goals for Sanfreece Hiroshima in 2016.
