Leicester City have announced Wilfred Ndidi will undergo surgery tomorrow after he injured his groin.
Manager Brendan Rodgers said the midfielder could now be out for as many as 12 weeks as a result.
He admitted he will be a huge miss for ‘The Foxes’.
“He’s a huge player for us and no doubt he will be missed,” he said.
“It’s unfortunate but we wish him a good recovery.”
The defensive midfielder will not only miss next month’s friendlies against Cote d’Ivoire and Tunisia, but also AFCON qualifiers in November on account of this injury setback.
Last season, he missed about five weeks no thanks to a knee injury.
