Algeria will now face the Super Eagles in a friendly early next month after original opponents Cote d’Ivoire pulled out.
The Ivorians withdrew from the October 9 friendly in Austria citing “internal problems”.
Reigning African champions Algeria have since confirmed their availability for the friendly.
The North Africans eliminated Nigeria in the semifinals of the 2019 AFCON as they went on to claim their second continental title.
This was after the Eagles flew past Algeria to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
In the meantime, officials disclosed that new Galatasaray signing Oghenekaro Etebo has been granted entry visa to Austria for the friendlies against Algeria and four days later against Tunisia.
The matches are geared at preparing the Eagles for the resumption of AFCON qualifiers in November.
