Victor Osimhen is a dangerous player and the stadium atmosphere in Istanbul is intimidating according to Stuttgart defender Maximilian Mittlestadt ahead of tonight’s UEFA Champions League clash against Galatasaray.
Going into matchday 4 of the Champions League, Stuttfart are sixth in the overall Champions League standings with seven points, while Galatasaray are 23rd with three points.
“We prepared specifically for Galatasaray. We know their defense is very good. We also know they have extraordinary attacking players. Osimhen is very dangerous. He has shown that he is one of the best strikers in recent years. There are other stars in the team as well,” leftback Mittlestadt said ahead of the match.
“Nevertheless, we prepared well. We know what awaits us. We know what we need to show. I believe we are well prepared.
“After seeing what Galatasaray has done in recent years and considering their successes in the Champions League, we don’t underrate them; the claim of being the favorite may be high, but we think we can hurt Galatasaray.
“We are strong too. We have shown that we can win against top-level teams like Galatasaray.”
He will also welcome the electric atmosphere inside the Galatasaray stadium.
“As someone who has been playing football since childhood, one longs to experience such atmospheres,” he said.
“You can’t find such a beautiful environment everywhere, with this atmosphere and high noise level in the stadium. You will play football in an extraordinary atmosphere in front of such fans. Perhaps this is why we play football.
“We intend to perform at the highest level and deserve it. You see how much passion is involved. You see how intense the desire is in Turkish football. We know what awaits us. We know what we need to focus on. We need to go out there 100%.”
