Bursaspor fans are so thrilled with the goals of Kelechi Iheanacho that they have brought him a truck-load of watermelons in appreciation.
Bursaspor captain Ertugal Ersoy got the fans to bring gifts of watermelon to Iheanacho after he revealed that the Super Eagles striker “eats watermelon all-year round”.
Fanatik reported that Karacabey fans have since sprang to action after Ismail Tepe, his son and friend loaded 16 watermelons and headed to the Bursaspor facilities.
“Bursaspor is indispensable to us. When our captain Ertuğrul Ersoy told me about Kelechi Iheanacho’s love for watermelons and asked the people of Karacabey for some, I immediately loaded watermelons into the trunk of my car and came here,” Tepe said.
“Hopefully, we will be champions this year and return to the Super Lig.”
Iheanacho, 30, has thus far scored 15 goals and made three assists in 11 matches and Bursaspor are second in the Turkish second division standings with 25 points, a point behind leaders Kayeserispor.
