Brighton have maintained they will not rush Zadok Yohanna so that his adaptation to the Premier League will be seamless.
The Athletic reported that Brighton have dropped the Nigerian youngster from the UEFA Conference League squad.
Brighton defeated Kauno Zalgiris of Lithuania 4-0 and midfielder Malick Yalcouye, 20, has instead been given a place in the squad.
“Zadok is still undergoing rehabilitation and needs a little more time to adapt to the intensity and demands we make. Some players adapt quickly, others need more time. When it comes to Zadok, we want to give him time. We don’t want to rush anything,” said Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler.
“The beginning (of the season) was tough for him. He got playing time, but came here (from AIK) with a similar problem. It’s about being patient and building him up.”
