Rafiu Durosinmi is a big, strong striker who has already scored six goals in as many matches for Belgian club Genk and he is now being compared to Super Eagles teammate Victor Osimhen.
The Genk record signing this past summer has caught the eye and former Super Eagles striker Tosin Dosunmu, who brokered the Lagos-born striker’s transfer to Belgium, has already said that there is a little of Osimhen in the former Pisa SC centre-forward.
“On matchday one, he already surprised me with what he showed after barely ten days of training. Rafiu sometimes reminds me a bit of Victor Osimhen, with the difference that he is really very strong in the air,” Dosunmu told Het Nieuwsblad.
“Condition-wise he is not yet top-notch, and the understanding with his teammates still needs to develop a bit.”
Durosinmi’s teammate at Genk Josue Kongolo also admitted he hates playing against the big striker in training.
“I love being on the team with him, but I hate him in training when I have to defend against him. Especially in the air, it’s pointless. Then I just push him aside with both hands. That’s possible in training,” he revealed.
The striker himself said he has never stopped working on hi aerial prowess.
“I was already working on it as a youth player, and I still do today. During or even after training. Then I ask for some crosses from the full-backs or wingers. It is also a way to get to know each other even better,” he opened up.
