The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have announced that their congress, which is the highest decision-making body for Nigerian football, is “no longer standing”.

In a memo to the chairman of the NFF electoral committee, acting general secretary of the NFF, Emmanuel Ikpeme, said that following the resignation of the NFF executive committee led by Ibrahim Gusau all processes leading to the proposed September 27 NFF elections have therefore been halted.
The correspondence further disclosed that structural and other forms of reforms will now have to be carried out beginning with local council elections.
The NFF said a Normalisation Committee to make these changes will be set up in “few days” following consultations with FIFA and CAF.
