Super Eagles midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has parted company with Barnsley after he became an outcast at the English League One club.
Nwakali quit Barnsley by mutual consent.
He is now to join Cypriot club Omonoia 29M.
Nwakali was not part of the first-team plans under Daniel Stendel as the club were keen to move him since the 2025 summer window.
The 28-year-old midfielder, whose contract was to be up next summer, did not see much action under previous coach Conor Hourihane.
In total, he made 30 appearances for Barnsley, including 12 league starts in the 2024/2025 season.
