Falconets striker Janet ‘Semenya’ Akekoromowei may not feature at next month’s U20 Women’s World Cup after she flew back to Portugal on the orders of her club Benfica.
“She’s on her way back to her club, she cannot afford to go against her employers,” a source informed SCORENigeria
“She’s now not likely to play at the World Cup.”
Semenya was first player to land in Poland for the World Cup only for her Portuguese club to order her back to base after claiming she was not properly released.
The big striker, who has also been capped by both the Super Falcons and Flamingos, will even send a passionate letter to FIFA asking them to intervene in her situation.
