Recently capped Super Eagles goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has moved on loan to Charlton Athletic so as to save his career.
Okonkwo, 24, who made his Super Eagles debut at the Unity Cup in May, has dropped down the pecking order at another English Championship club, Wrexham, and so was not guaranteed regular action in the new season.
Last season, he was outstanding as Wrexham narrowly missed out on a promotion playoffs place.
Okonkwo kept 46 clean sheets in 121 games for Wrexham, having joined the team initially in 2023 on loan from Arsenal before making the move permanent a year later.
The Nigerian international played 39 Championship games for the club last season but did not feature in the match-day squad for their opening league game against Cardiff City.
