The full details of the transfer of Spain captain Rodri from Manchester City to Barcelona are now known.
The contract runs until 2030 and the star midfielder will earn 15 million euros per year.
What remained was for the clubs to agree on a transfer fee, which they have now done. The transfer fee is set at 70 million euros.
Rodri had a year left on his Manchester City contract and had no intention of extending it with the English club.
He would either see out the contract or leave for Barcelona this summer, having chosen the reigning Spanish champions as his preferred destination and snubbed Real Madrid earlier this summer when Barcelona entered the race for him.
The 30-year-old joined Manchester City from Atlético Madrid in 2019 and quickly established himself as a key player at the club.
In 2024, he was awarded the Ballon d’Or as the world’s best footballer and in 2026 he was awarded the World Cup’s best player award, when he led his Spain to their second-ever World Cup gold.
In total, Rodri won four Premier League titles, one Champions League title, three League Cup titles, two FA Cup titles, one European Super Cup title and one Club World Cup with Manchester City.
