Belgian club Genk have announced that Super Eagles winger Yira Sor has left them.
Genk coach Jess Thorup confirmed the departure.
“I don’t know if everything has been signed yet, but I can be honest enough to say that Yira hasn’t been at the club for the past two days. He won’t be with us this season,” Thorup told HLN
Yira Sor is close to joining promoted Turkish club Amedspor.
Sor, 26, has not fully met expectations since his €6.5 million move from Slavia Praha in January 2023.
The winger, whose development was hindered by injuries, is in his final contract year and has been capped once by Nigeria.
According to Transfermarkt, Sor’s current value has dropped to €2.5 million.
