Super Eagles winger Philip Otele is considered “too expensive” by his Swiss side, who are prepared to sell him.
Otele is described as a ‘Verkaufskandidat’ (sale candidate). Coach Stephan Lichtsteiner stated that he has no alternative plan if Otele left Swiss side FC Basel this summer and that if Otele were sold, he will seek a solution.
To sign the Nigerian forward permanently from Abu Dhabi last summer, the club had to give him a high salary, hoping to sell him for a higher price in the winter.
After Hamburg SV did not use their purchase option for Otele following his loan, another buyer is now needed.
Italian clubs Lecce and Frosinone have been mentioned and also clubs in Saudi Arabia are monitoring his situation.
