The Super Falcons have promised victory and loads of goals Wednesday night against Egypt in a final Group C game to guarantee their qualification to the quarterfinal of the 2026 WAFCON.
The defending champions fought back from an opening day 3-2 loss to Malawi to stop Zambia 1-0 and revive their hopes at the WAFCON in Morocco.
They are now second in the group with three points from two matches, ahead of Zambia on the head-to-head rule, while Malawi top the standings with six points.
Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie said they will pile more misery on whipping team Egypt, who have thus far let in nine goals in two matches.
“We have to score goals against Egypt, it won’t be easy as the group is still very wide open and we don’t know what Zambia and Malawi will play,” she said.
We need all three points and goals against Egypt,” added China-based forward Folashade Ijamulusi.
“The group is very tight as it is now.”
Both captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Player of the Match vs Zambia Michele Alozie were equally bullish about the chances of the 10-time African champions.
“It’s game on! We will give our best against Egypt,” Ajibade vowed.
