Ghana then drew level through Mohammed Zaidan in the 23rd minute.
Oraro Lucky regained the lead for Nigeria after half an hour, before striker Abdulmuiz Adeleke made it 3-1 from the penalty spot five minutes from half time.
After the interval, the Satellites of Ghana chased the game as expected and they were rewarded via a penalty in the 62nd minute, when a Nigerian defender upended their player inside the box.
This goal forced the Flying Eagles to be more positive in their approach and they then netted a fourth goal in stoppage time.
Adeleke scored again from the penalty spot to complete his brace.
