Tanzania tonight delivered the first big shock of the 2026 WAFCON when they beat 2022 champions Banyana Banyana of South Africa 2-1 in an opening Group B match.
The less fancied Tanzanians took the lead against the run of play in the 38th minute through Diana Msewa.
South Africa restored parity in first half stoppage time courtesy of Bambanani Mbane.
However, the Tanzanians delivered the killer blow three minutes from time.
