SCORENigeria can report that the NFF fact-finding committee has been told that several top stars of the Super Falcons were nursing injuries going into the 2026 WAFCON.
A source informed: “Some of the players came to the tournament with injuries and these injuries had to be managed because it was too late to make the necessary changes.
“Only nine of the players on the final squad traveled to Morocco as a team, the rest of the players came from their various bases and so it was almost impossible to ascertain their full fitness before then.”
The Super Falcons not only failed to defend the WAFCON crown they won last year in Morocco, they also failed for the first-time ever to qualify for the World Cup.
