Top Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad have now turned their attention to Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi after they could not convince Raphael Onyedika to join them.
Al Ittihad failed to sign Onyedika from Belgian champions Club Brugge because their offer was considered insufficient.
In their search for a replacement for Fabinho, the club have shifted its focus to Ndidi.
The Jeddah-based club have made an official offer of €12.5 million to the Turkish club of the 29-year-old defensive midfielder.
Ndidi has won 79 caps and scored a goal for Nigeria.
He joined Besiktas in July 2025 and his contract runs until 2028.
He is reportedly one of several targets being considered by the Saudi club, alongside Sofyan Amrabat and Marwan Attia.
Manchester United and Hull City have also been linked with the player.
His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €8.00m.
