Nigeria and Ghana will again rekindle their perennial rivalry when they come face-to-face in the group rounds of the WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifiers in Cote d’Ivoire later this month.
The Flying Eagles and the Black Satellites of Ghana are drawn in Group B along with Togo and Burkina Faso, while hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Benin and Niger are in Group A.
Interestingly, the Flying Eagles beat Ghana in the final of the last qualifying tournament to win the WAFU B regional qualifiers.
Ghana will host the 2027 U20 AFCON to celebrate the West African nation’s 70th independence anniversary.
LOL! Africa….the host CIV gets Benin Rep and Niger Rep (and basically has to win only 1 game to qualify for the semis), while powerhouses Nigeria, Ghana and Burkina Faso (in addition to Togo of course) in one group. SMH
