Egypt have rewarded coach Hossam Hassan with a new contract after he led them to reach the knockout rounds of the World Cup for the first time in their history.
The Pharaohs of Egypt were eliminated by reigning champions Argentina 3-2 in the Round of 16.
The Egyptian Football Association announced the contract extension of coach Hassan, who has been in charge of the team since February 2024.
In a statement, EFA president, Hany Abo Rida, explained that this decision was part of the desire to “continue the national team project” and to build on “the historic achievements of Egyptian football” in recent months.
