SCORENigeria can report that a record-breaking offer for sensational youngster Zadok Yohanna tabled by Premier League club Brighton has been rejected by Swedish club AIK.
Brighton have submitted a bid of 23 million euros for Zadok, 18, which is already an outgoing record transfer in Sweden.
A source who is familiar with the transfer negotiations concerning Zadok told SCORENigeria: “The offer by Brighton has been rejected.
“The club want more cash for the player. It is as simple as that.”
AIK are in dire financial straits.
This week the club published the year’s first quarterly report – which showed that they have made a loss of almost 34 million kronor (about $3 million).
Recruitment Manager Miika Takkula said he believes that there is a target level to reach during the summer.
“It is obvious that we want to make player sales. I have a target amount. How much we want to reach with player sales,” Takkula told Expressen.
However, he does not reveal exactly what the target level is.
It was further gathered that no less than 10 Premier League clubs are now interested in signing the exciting winger and that in part has explained why AIK are pushing for more cash.
In only seven matches this season, Zadok has taken the Swedish top league by storm to spark an unprecedented scramble for the player, from Real Madrid to Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
