DR Congo have named a strong final squad for the 2026 World Cup with several of the players having a connection with the Jupiler Pro League in Belgium.
Coach Sebastien Desabre has opted for several players who know the Belgian league well or were active in that league in the past.
For instance, captain Chancel Mbemba, a former Anderlecht defender, is part of the squad.
Additionally, Rocky Bushiri (ex-Eupen, KV Mechelen, and KV Oostende), Dylan Batubinsika (ex-Antwerp), Noah Sadiki (ex-Anderlecht and Union), and Théo Bongonda (ex-KRC Genk) are also preparing for the World Cup.
For Matthieu Epolo of Standard de Liège and Joris Kayembe of KRC Genk, a ticket to the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada is already waiting.
However, Mario Stroeykens of Anderlecht was not included in the Congo final selection.
