Highly-rated Brentford defender Michael Kayode has made his choice – he would rather play for Italy than the Super Eagles at full international level.
Kayode is eligible to play for the Super Eagles through his Nigerian parents, but he was born in Italy and has already represented that country at various age-grade levels.
He told Tuttosport: “I will always give priority to Italy.
“Even at youth level I grew up wearing the Azzurri shirt.
“I hope to achieve this dream as soon as possible, I’m close.
“I have no doubt about which path to choose.”
Both Italy and the Super Eagles did not qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
