Paul Onuchu has set new scoring records at Turkish club Trabzonspor.
Onuachu, who scored a goal at the weekend against Fatih Karagumruk, achieved a first in his career by scoring in six consecutive games.
The tall striker missed the Beşiktaş, Gençlerbirliği, and Kocaelispor matches this season due to suspension and the Africa Cup of Nations.
The 31-year-old scored one goal each in the 2-1 win against Kasımpaşa in week 19 and the 1-1 draw against Antalyaspor in week 20, and two goals in the 3-0 victory against Samsunspor in week 21.
He scored once each in Trabzonspor’s 3-2 defeat to Fenerbahçe in week 22, and in the 2-1 wins against Gaziantep FK and Karagumruk, has netted seven goals in his last six matches.
Onuachu is currently leading to Super Lig goals race with 18 goals in 21 appearances. He also scored 1 goal in 2 matches in the Ziraat Turkey Cup.
Having scored 36 goals and provided 6 assists in 48 appearances for Trabzonspor so far, Onuachu aims to crown his Trabzonspor career with a top scorer title.
Trabzonspor coach Fatih Tekke scored in five consecutive matches when he was a player and now Onuachu has surpassed that.
His scoring streak also means he is now the first foreign player in the club’s history to score for as many weeks after Shota and Henrique only managed in only five straight weeks.
