Highly-promising striker George Ilenikhena, who has been watched by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, has chosen the petro-dollars offered by Saudi Arabia.
The 19-year-old striker, who has endured a series of injuries, has signed a contract with Al Ittihad worth 33 million euros.
The deal is until 2029.
The Lagos-born Ilenikhena signed from AS Monaco and he is seen as a direct replacement for Karim Benzema, who has transferred to another Saudi club Al Hilal.
In the current Ligue 1 season, Ilenikhena has made two appearances without scoring any goals, and his contract with Monaco was due to expire in June 2029.
According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €12.00m.
In the summer of 2025, Monaco had rejected a bid from VfB Stuttgart that was reportedly worth €22 million plus €5 million in bonuses.
