The 23-year-old SC Freiburg shot stopper, who recently made history by saving five consecutive penalties, has been called up for international games against Luxembourg and Northern Ireland.
He has been picked in place of Oliver Baumann, who is suffering from nausea.
He will be lost to Nigeria should he play in the upcoming internationals.
