The Flamingos will feature in this year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco after they held home team Algeria to a scoreless draw tonight to qualify 4-0 on aggregate.
The Nigerian ladies created the better chances in tonight’s second leg clash, but poor finishing and some bad luck denied them a comfortable victory in Blida.
The Flamingos also had to battle against the wintry conditions besides the home team.
A minute to full time, Algeria almost created a huge upset, but they were denied by the woodwork.
The Flamingos reached the quarterfinal of the 2024 World Cup before they were stopped by USA.
Since the U17 World Cup was founded in 2008, Nigeria have only failed to feature at the 2018 edition in Uruguay.
This year’s U17 World Cup will kick off on October 17 in Morocco.
