Flamingos coach Akeem Busari has said he is looking forward to tonight’s U17 World Cup semifinal against the Samba Girls from Brazil.
Nigeria shot past Venezuela 1-0, while Brazil beat China 2-1 to set up tonight’s battle for a place in the World Cup final.
Both teams have clashed twice at this tournament.
They first played out a 2-2 draw at the 2008 World Cup, before Brazil pipped their Nigerian counterparts 1-0 in the 2016 edition of the competition.
“Reaching the semifinals is a dream come true for me and a great achievement,” Busari said ahead of today’s clash against the South Americans.
“I am looking forward to it because I want to make my country proud.
“We want to give our best and show everyone what we can do.”
Goalkeeper Jane Ijirigho expressed confidence they will go past Brazil to a first-ever World Cup final.
“We have done well so far and if we could sustain this momentum, we will go past Brazil,” she declared.
Kick-off tonight in Rabat, Morocco is 7pm.
