Striker Tolu Arokodare, who has been handed his first-ever call-up to the Super Eagles, is poised to finish the regular season in Belgium as top scorer with 17 goals.
The 24-year-old Arokodare scored his 17th goal for Genk this season in a 2-1 home win over Union St.Gilloise Saturday.
He opened scoring in the 69th minute after both teams were locked at 0-0 going into the interval.
His closest challengers are three goals shy going into their final game of the regular season today.
Arokodare’s club Genk are already runaway winners of the regular season and qualify for the playoffs that will determine the champions of the league.
Other teams in the championship playoffs are defending champions Club Brugge, Union St.Gilloise, Anderlecht, Antwerp and Gent.
