Performance in the 2023/2024 season was one to remain evergreen as it has now been rewarded with a move to La Liga club Sevilla on a free transfer after his contract with Russian club CSKA Moscow ran out.
The season under review was Ejuke’s first-ever in Belgium since joining on loan from CSKA Moscow.
He was involved in a whopping 39 fixtures for the Belgian side, including UEFA Champions League appearances.
Throughout last season, the 26-year-old had a total of ten goal contributions, five goals and five assists evenly shared, across 2430 played in total.
Per 90 minutes played in the Jupiler League, Ejuke had an average of 0.19 goals, an equal 0.19 assists with a combined 0.38 for goals contributions and being in the 84th percentile for Xg (Expected goals).
With regards to shots taken as a winger, Chidera was able to conjure 27 shots in total, with 17 on target and the other ten straying wide with a poor conversion rate of 14.81% but an accuracy of 62.96 for 6.75 shots per goals and none hitting the woodwork.
It was not too good a season for him creation-wise as he was only able to assist four goals with an xA (expected assists) of 5.45.
He was rated 98th out of 376 forwards in Belgium.
Nonetheless, Ejuke had exquisite passing as he had a completion rate of 85.94% with 37 key passes and 801 out of 932 being successful passes.
Ejuke was outstanding in his most prolific attribute of dribbling as he breezed past defenders, completing 82 dribbles with a success rate of 56.55% and was only dispossessed 39 times.
These were good enough to tempt Spanish giants Sevilla FC into negotiating for his move into the Spanish top-flight in a free transfer, where he will be plying his trade for the next three years.
He said he hopes to relaunch himself to the Super Eagles after he was overlooked this past year.
