Enugu Rangers chief executive Amobi Ezeaku has vowed that the newly crowned NPFL champions will compete and not make up the numbers in CAF Champions League.
Rangers annexed their eighth Nigerian league Sunday after they defeated Bendel Insurance 2-0 to record an unassailable 67 points from 37 matches with a round of matches to be played till the end of the season.
“You should expect more, we’re relentless,” declared Ezeaku, who was team manager when Rangers last won the title in 2016.
“We will compete on the continent, we’re not going to make up the numbers.
“I promise you with my life. I promise.”
He praised both coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and the fans.
“Our coach is pragmatic, he is one of the best on the continent,” he remarked.
“As for the fans, they are the duel who energised when we were gasping for the breath.
“I was born for this game. I live and die for this game.”
