Victor Osimhen has doused fears over his fitness for Super Eagles World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin after he returned to action for Napoli in a final game of a rather frustrating Serie A season.
Osimhen was a second-half sub for Napoli against Lecce.
The striker was earlier nursing a muscle complaint he suffered in Napoli training, which kept him out of a previous league game.
Osimhen and the rest of the Napoli team were booed by the Partenopeu fans after were held to a 0-0 at home by Lecce.
The Super Eagles will be without several key players like William Ekong, Moses Simon and Zaidu Sanusi for next month’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin.
