The CHAN Eagles will have an immediate chance to redeem themselves at the 2019 WAFU Cup in Senegal as they face Togo, who they lost heavily to in a 2020 CHAN playoff last week.
Togo were truly at home on Sunday when they trounced the CHAN Eagles 4-1 in Lome and both teams will clash again on Sunday in their first match of the WAFU Cup.
The return leg for the CHAN playoff is fixed for October 19 in Nigeria with the overall winners advancing to Cameroon 2020.
The CHAN Eagles will fly out of Nigeria tomorrow.
The winners of this WAFU match-up will then take on the winners of the clash between Cote d’Ivoire and Cape Verde.
The losers of the Nigeria vs Togo clash will also face the losers of the Cote d’Ivoire and Cape Verde game.
The WAFU Nations Cup final will be played on October 13.
