Senegal have sacked coach Pape Thiaw, saying the results at the 2026 World Cup caused this change.
Senegal were eliminated by Belgium in the Round of 32 of the World Cup.
Thiaw, 45, only recently signed a new contract to continue as Senegal coach.
French all-sports newspaper L’Equipe has reported that Patrick Vieira, who was born in Dakar, was among the favourites to take over the Teranga Lions.
