Officials have told SCORENigeria that they are positive that Gift Orban will soon be firing goals for the Super Eagles after the administrative issues that have bogged his international career.
Gift Orban is the joint leading scorer of the Turkish Super Lig with seven goals and two assists alongside Mohamed Salah.
He is ahead of Victor Osimhen, who has six goals and two assists for defending champions Galatasaray.
“There are some administrative issues concerning the player,” admitted an official.
“Hopefully, these issues will soon be resolved for him to play for Nigeria as he is eligible to do so.”
The Amedspor striker was born in Togo to a Togolese father and a Nigerian mother from Benue State.
He has always maintained that he wishes to play for the Super Eagles and was even called up in May 2023, but he did not make his long-awaited debut with the official statement being that he suffered injury in training.
