Cardiff City loanee Sheyi Ojo has said he is relieved to finally make his KV Kortrijk debut after a delay caused by the issuance of work permit in Belgium.
Ojo started and finished in a 1-1 home draw with Standard Liege.
“I have the feeling that I was a threat to Standard’s defence throughout the game,” Ojo told Het Nieuwsblad .
“I can build on this performance. Unfortunately, Bodart (Standard goalkeeper) kept a good match, but I believe those goals will follow soon.
“I am someone who likes to have the ball at the foot and want to help the team with my own input.”
Ojo had to wait for several weeks to make his bow in Belgium because his work permit was not sorted.
“It was a difficult period for me. That work permit dragged on and that was not very nice. I had no choice but to train hard and prove myself in training. I did,” he said.
“Now I am glad that everything is arranged and that I was allowed to play against Standard I want to help the team as much as possible with assists and goals.”
