Spanish Segunda Division CD Leganes have reduced their salary bill with the departure of one of the team’s highest earners, Kenneth Omeruo, to Turkish Super Lig club Kasimpasa SK.
Omeruo, 29, played 123 games across five seasons at the Madrid club since 2018 to make him the African player with the most appearances.
He also captained Leganes.
His third spell to Istanbul side Kasimpasa was made possible by coach Kemal Ozdes, who has previously worked with the experienced defender.
Omeruo has signed a three-year contract with Kasimpasa to end the interest of another of his former Turkish clubs, Alayanspor.
