Who will be the Nigerian stars who will make the top transfers as the summer window has already opened in some European leagues?
SCORENigeria reveals an interesting list of players set for greener pastures this summer.
10.Kelechi Nwakali
The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles captain should be rewarded for a decent run in Segunda Division with a transfer even though his club Ponferradina were relegated at the end of the season. He did enough to at least stay in the Spanish lower league even though he has a contract with his club till next year.
9.Raphael Onyedika
Club Brugge are undergoing a massive re-organisation after they failed to retain the Belgian championship this past season. Onyedika justified his big-money transfer from Denmark in his debut season and already a number of Premier League clubs are interested in signing the defensive midfielder.
8.Moses Simon
It has already been reported that OGC Nice are back in the hunt for the Super Eagles forward after a rather indifferent campaign with FC Nantes. ‘The Canaries’ will have to lower their valuation of the winger for him to finally move on.
7.Bright Osayi-Samuel
He won the Turkish Cup with Fenerbache to put the icing on a season during which he established himself either as right wing back or full back for the Istanbul giants. French Ligue 2 club Troyes are among the clubs keen to sign the Super Eagles ace.
6.Jerome Akor
Norwegian club Lillestrom hope to break their outgoing transfer record with the sale of their on-form striker, who has already scored 11 goals in all competitions thus far this season. Antwerp and a handful of clubs in the MLS were interested in the big centre-forward last year and already Bundesliga club Werder Bremen have been linked to him this season. He could go for five Million Euros after he joined the Oslo club as a free agent last year.
5.Paul Onuachu
His dream to play in the Premier League did not play to script after new club Southampton were relegated and he did not score a goal. He cost ‘The Saints’ about 18 Million Pounds and they will hope to recoup a substantial part of this figure. A number of Bundesliga clubs are said to be interested in the giant striker, who made his name in Belgium with Genk.
4.Victor Boniface
He shone in his first season in Belgium with modest Union St.Gilloise, who are now set to make a huge profit after they bought him from Norwegian club Bodo/Glimt for Two Million Euros last summer. His goals and performances in the Europa League showed he can compete at the highest level of the game. Interests have come from the Bundesliga and Ligue 1, while a move to the Premier League cannot be dismissed.
3.Gift Orban
This explosive 20-year-old striker fired 20 goals in as many appearances since his arrival from Norway in January and now KAA Gent will cash in on this big time. He cost them over Three Million Euros and Transfermakt now values him at 20 Million Euros. French Ligue 1 clubs Lille and RC Lens are already front runners to snap him up.
2.Samuel Chukwueze
The exciting winger full of tricks has season after season been linked with a transfer away from Villarreal and this close season in no exception. This was by far his most productive season in La Liga – 13 goals, 11 assists – and the reward will be a transfer to a bigger club. Real Madrid have been mentioned in the same sentence with him, while AC Milan, Newcastle and Arsenal are some of the other clubs linked to him.
1.Victor Osimhen
Will Napoli keep their crowned jewel or sell him for a record-breaking figure? That’s one of the biggest posers in the entire summer transfer window. Napoli President Aurelio Di Laurentiis is notorious for holding on to his top stars, but will he now give in to some of Europe’s big spenders and sell him for a tidy profit? Napoli broke their transfer record to splash over 70 Million Euros for the striker from Lille three years ago. They now want more than double that sum – 150 Million Euros. PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea are some of the suitors.
