Highly-rated defensive midfielder Victor Eletu will now join up with the Flying Eagles directly in Argentina for the U20 World Cup, officials have informed SCORENigeria
“Eletu will join the team in Argentina now after he was held up by some club commitments,” team administrator Aliyu Lawal told SCORENigeria
“He has started the process of getting his visa in Milan and he will be the only player who will join us in Argentina.”
The Flying Eagles have been able to convince Milan to release the midfielder for the U20 World Cup after their initial rejection.
Eletu, 19, is one of four foreign-based professionals on the Flying Eagles 25-man squad to Argentina.
The Flying Eagles will depart Abuja Saturday night for Buenos Aires via Istanbul, Turkey.
They will set up training camp in the Argentine capital city before their eventual departure to Mendoza, where they will play their opening group game on May 21 against the Dominican Republic.
